RYKS, Louisa Wilhelmina

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louisa Ryks (nee De Swart) on February 21, 2025, in her 94th year.

Beloved wife to the late Charles Ryks (2014). Loving mother to Andy and Joanne Ryks. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Francesca, and her siblings Joseph, Elizabeth, John, Matthew, Mia, and Catherine. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews in the Netherlands.

Louisa's love for life was reflected in the simple joys she embraced-baking Dutch desserts that filled her home with warmth, tending to her garden with care, sharing her life and home with wonderful pets, and always sharing her love of good food with those around her. Whether she was bowling a strike or traveling to new places, Louisa's zest for life was contagious. She had an innate ability to make others feel welcome with her friendly, easygoing nature. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N, Guelph. A Visitation will be held on Friday February 28, 2025, from 1:00-2:00PM, with a Service at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow.
