RYE, Doreen Marie

Doreen Marie Rye passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the Juravinski Hospital in her 78th year.

Doreen was the loving wife of Larry for 53 years and a devoted mother to Gary (Kathy) and Larry. She was a cherished grandma to Jordan (Charlotte), Joshua (Madeline), Eric, Martin, Seth, and Mitchell, and an adoring great-grandma to Miles, Christian, Esme, Damien, and Axel.

Her warmth and kindness were felt by all who knew her. Doreen's devotion extended beyond her immediate family; she was a mother figure to many, earning the affectionate title "Mom" from those whose lives she touched. Her generosity and gentle spirit were evident in her work at Community Living, where she dedicated much of her career to helping others.

Doreen will be forever remembered by her dear brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home - Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St. Guelph) on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 1 - 2 pm followed by a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 2:00 pm with a reception afterwards in the Fellowship Lounge. Cremation has taken place.

Donations in Doreen's honour directed to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

Doreen's legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
