Passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in his 89th year. Beloved husband and best friend of 62 years to Thelma (nee Dixon). Loved father of Robert (Cathy), John (Randi), David (Val) and Mike (Ross). Grandpa will be sadly missed by Jeff (Jessica), Chris, Matt, Leslie (Corey), Erin, Rebekah (Jon) and Sarah. Dear brother of Joan (Jack) Barr and Jean (Jack) Russell. Predeceased by sister Elizabeth (Colin) Macaulay. Bob will be missed by his furry companions Rosie and Molly.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Church of St. James the Apostle or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Robert (Bob) F. Rowsell in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
