August 28, 1942 - September 12, 2024

After a period of illness and suffering, Paul left this life in no pain and on his own terms on September 12, 2024 at Hospice Wellington. He leaves behind devoted wife Anna, loving daughters Natalie and Jessica (Neil) and adored grandchildren Caleb, Lila and Ewan. He will be missed greatly by family and friends, including extended family in England and Canada, and was grateful for an outpouring of love and support from all of them until the end.

Born in Middlesbrough, England during the second world war, Paul was a fierce but gentle man who filled his life pursuing his passions for politics, heritage, current events, reading, music, and of course, soccer. He emigrated to Canada in his 20's, where he began his long career as a public servant and met the future love of his life, Anna. They married and welcomed two daughters. Later in life he was blessed with three grandchildren. Paul was very devoted to his family, and proud of their achievements. Although sometimes reserved, his love was obvious to everyone, and he was equally adored. He will be greatly missed by his family, and they are grateful for the time they had with him.

Paul had several friends throughout his life that meant a great deal to him, and even as time passed and he fell out of touch with some, he often remembered people with fondness. We ask that if you knew and remember Paul, that you remember him just as fondly, and raise a pint in his honour.

The family would like to express immense thanks to a number of people. This includes the physicians at Juravinski Cancer Centre who assisted him, his other physicians Dr. Renee Beland and Dr. Cassandra Graham, and the amazing staff at Hospice Wellington. Thanks are also given to friends Janice Wright, Donna Core, and Bawne Weiler-Browning, who helped support Anna and make Paul's final months memorable. The sense of support and community that have gathered around Paul and the family during this time has been amazing, and we are very grateful.

In honour of Paul, there will be a Celebration of Life held for immediate family and close friends.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

In lieu of flowers, Paul would have appreciated donations to Diabetes Canada or to adopt a rat from APOPO Hero Rats. Other ways to honour Paul would be to listen to some music you love, drink some good scotch, or watch a Middlesbrough FC game and root for a win.

Paul will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

A tree will be planted in memory of Paul S. Ross in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
