It is with sadness and gratitude for a long and healthy life, our family announces the peaceful passing of Donna Mary Ritchie (Burrows) at Riverside Glen, December 21, at the age of 90.

Donna was surrounded by her entire loving family and close friends, and her last days will be remembered because of the laughter, tears, and stories! Lots of stories. She stayed sassy and spunky right to the end, her sense of humour intact.

Donna was one of the original Pioneer “Bell Girls” working the switchboard at Bell Canada in the 1950s and the women that she worked with there remained lifelong friends.

It was at Bell that she met our father, Kenneth Ritchie. Their loving marriage started in 1957 and ended with his passing in 2001.

Donna is survived by her children; Lourene Weiss (Chris), Graig Ritchie (Darcy) and Alison Hartung (Bill), her grandchildren Joel, Eden, Rachel, Sarah, Brett, Victoria, Jacob, and Noah, as well as her darling great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lourie Breakey, and her dear friend Bill Davidson.

As per Donna’s wishes, she had chosen cremation. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

Her family wish to thank her friends at Riverside Glen for their caring and compassion and also the Palliative Care Team led by Dr. W. Ruddock.

Those wishing to honour mom are asked to donate to Hospice Wellington.

A tree will be planted in memory of Donna M. Ritchie in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
