Passed away peacefully, after a courageous, hard-fought battle with cancer, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Hamilton, with his family by his side, on Thursday, June 22, 2017. Dan Ralston, in his 63rd year, was the beloved husband of the late Deborah Ann (nee Egan) Ralston (2013). He was the dear father of Mark (Jessica), Matthew and his wife Andrea, Michael and Amanda and her husband Dan Curtis.
Dan was the proud and loving Papa of Tyler, Averie, Ella and Gavin. He was the dear brother of Debbie (Bob Hall), Tom and his wife Jill and Jane and her husband Tom. He is survived by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Dan was the loving and caring companion of Carol Bousfield. He was a dear friend and mentor of the Acceptance Group of Alcoholics Anonymous. Dan was a proud member for eighteen years.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. and on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Dan will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 4 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St., Guelph, on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Sacred Heart Church or to Alcoholics Anonymous would be appreciated by the family. Cards are available at the funeral home (519-822-4731).
