PETTY, Donald Graydon

Passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Sunday May 5th, 2018. Graydon was the beloved husband of Beverly (Cassidy) for 32 years. Loving
father of Lynne, Clarke and his wife Robin, Marlyse and her husband Goran and the late John Graydon Jr. (2009). Loved by his step-children Jay and his wife Angie, Erin and Shauna and her husband Joseph. Much loved Grampa of Steven, Michael, Andrea, Maddy, Janine, Leanne, Kayla, Ryan, Paige and Michael and Great-Grampa to Leo. Pre-deceased by his sister Donna. Graydon will be greatly missed by his many friends at St. Joseph’s.

Graydon graduated from McMaster University in 1958 with his teaching degree, starting his first day in September of 1958. He enjoyed teaching right up until he retired in June of 1991. Graydon was actively involved with Children’s Aid Society, where he was president for many years. Graydon received a Certificate of Recognition for 11 years of service from Streetsville Senior Citizens and Streetsville Cadet Band where he was the trustee and chairman. Graydon retired from his position as city councilman for Mississauga and Streetsville in February of 1989.

Graydon loved to spend time at his cottage on Lake Weslemkoon in Bancroft, where he loved to fish and enjoyed cottage life in general.

A celebration of Graydon's life will be held on Friday May, 11th, 2018 from 7-9 pm at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph.
