Passed away with her family by her side on Monday, January 8th, 2024, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Daughter of Robert (2022) and Ruth Parker and Sister of Katie (Shaun), as well as many cousins and close friends who will miss her. She will be fondly remembered by her two nieces, Lillian (Elizabeth Anne) and Evelyn (Marie) who each share a piece of her name.
Annemarie was born in Guelph, Ontario on June 1st, 1976 and lived there for most of her life before moving to Burlington in 2022. Annemarie was an avid puzzle, board game and card game enthusiast and enjoyed being an aunt while watching her nieces grow up. Her biggest talent was her ability to hand craft and create beautiful quilts, baby blankets and other assorted quilted goods, to which many of her friends and family were the recipients of.
She was courageous in life and fought through an unimaginably difficult disease, but that did not dampen her spirit; Annemarie graduated high school from Centennial CVI and went on to get a diploma in Business Administration Materials Management from Conestoga College in 2001. She enjoyed working with a personal trainer at Movati gym in Guelph, and loved a good cupcake as well as Purdy's Chocolate Hedgehogs.
A private celebration of Annemarie’s life will be held at a later date, along with an interment ceremony in the Spring. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada (www.muscle.ca).
A tree will be planted in memory of Annemarie P. Parker in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
