NORRISH, John Garnet

Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, in his 88th year, with family by his side. 
Beloved husband and best friend of 62 years to Joyce (nee Mervyn). Loved father of Bob (Barb) and John (Andrea). Loving grandfather of Melissa (Brian), Krista (Dan), Teresa, Laura (Nathan), Jackie (Devan), Matthew and Elaena. Cherished great grandfather of Grace, Griffen, Wyatt, Leo, Jaxon, Alexa, Braxton and Xackery. Dear brother of Cliff (Anne) and Eunice (Ivan) and brother-in-law of Eileen (the late Leon). Will be fondly remembered by family and friends.
Garnet grew up in Nassagaweya Township. He attended the University of Guelph, graduating from OAC in 1953. He taught at the University of Guelph and worked for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Garnet was also a member of the Guelph-Wellington Men’s Club.

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph for one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, August 20, 2017at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
