Frank passed away suddenly in Barrie, Ontario on Tuesday, September 8,
2020. Frank was the beloved son of the late Mario and Francesca Milani. He
was the cherished brother of Leda (Ciano) Cassolato and Elsa (Dale)
Dunsmoor. Frank will be missed by his nieces and nephews Chris (Philana),
Sandra (James Noble), Laura and Robert (Carly) Cassolato and David
(Flavia) and Adam (Elisha) Dunsmoor. He was also loved by great-nieces and
nephews Noah, Evan, Nathan, Jacob, Emma, Ella, Jayden, Grace, Connor,
Hailey and Elizabeth.
Frank was a friendly, jovial person who always had interesting stories to
tell. He will always be remembered for his wit and humour. He had an
aptitude for languages and devoted his life to education. After graduating
from the University of Toronto, he spent a year in France mastering the
language. He enjoyed passing on his love of the French language to his
students and made great connections with them. He taught French immersion
in Barrie and then at St. Michael's Choir School, retiring after over 35
years of teaching. Along the way, Frank published a French textbook and
several translations of classic literature and spent several years as a
French Resource Consultant for the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
Frank truly lived life to the fullest through his enjoyment of simple
pleasures, travelling to his favourite spots, Florida, New York and Las
Vegas, socializing with friends and spending quality time with his family.
He was a dedicated son who faithfully travelled home on weekends to care
and support his parents. He was devoted to his extended family and
enriched our lives in so many ways. He will be deeply missed!
