David Carl McQuarrie suddenly passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 77.

A man of few words, who embodied the true spirit of being a good neighbour-kind, generous with his time, and ready to lend a helping hand. His warmth, selflessness and quick wit touched everyone around him, making his neighbourhood of 37+ years a better place.

In his younger years, David was well known for his iron gut that created a healthy competition to eat anyone under the table and not gain a pound. He also enjoyed dancing the night away with his crazy hips that seemed to dislocate from his body as he floated around the dance floor. In his later years, David found comfort in life's simple joys-watching old Western movies, reliving memories of his time coaching his children's baseball teams, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years Judith Anne McQuarrie. Loving father to Cora-Lee McQuarrie (Peter), Michael McQuarrie (Jennipher Mohr), and Beth Uyede (Jonathan Uyede) Proud grandfather to Nicole Becker, Daeshawna Becker, Alynna Colclough, Hudson McQuarrie, Nyah and Sloane Uyede. Dear brother of Donna MacKay (Dave), Neil McQuarrie (Shirley). Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

In line with David's way of life, there will be no funeral service. As a cancer survivor, he wished for donations, in his name, to be made to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
