Lois passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in her 94th year.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Maude and Donald McLean, and by her siblings: Robert “Bob” (Jean) of Kamloops, BC; Alastair (Jean) of London, ON; Ian (Mary) of Puslinch, ON; Alan “Red” (Mary) of Puslinch, ON; and survived by Wilfred “Bill” of Puslinch, ON.
She will be deeply missed by her cherished nieces and nephews: John (Laura), Nancy (John), Debbie (Iain), Lori (George), Carrie (Mark), Clarke (Tammy), Jan (Shayne), Alison (Brian), and Andrew. Lois will also be fondly remembered by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Reid (Vannessa), Andrew, Catherine (Jayme), Connor (Amanda), Emma, Avery, Colin, Carter, Cole, Ethan, Charlie, Jarrett, Daisy, and Cameron. She also leaves behind her great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews: Olive, Tait, Brett, and Lainey.
Lois dedicated 46 years of her career to Biltmore Hats, beginning in 1950. She was an active and devoted member of the Guelph Curling Club for four decades and a longtime contributor to the Puslinch Historical Society. A valued member of the Badenoch and Puslinch communities, Lois took great pride in preserving local history and fostering strong community ties.
An avid traveler, Lois embraced the opportunity to explore the world with family and friends. However, her greatest joy was her family. She was deeply committed to maintaining close relationships with her siblings, nieces, and nephews, often hosting family gatherings and ensuring connections remained strong across generations. She also took great pride in organizing the annual Clark & McLean Family Reunions for many years, bringing together loved ones to celebrate their shared heritage.
Lois will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love, connection, and cherished memories.
First visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Second visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Duff’s Presbyterian Church 319 Brock Rd. S., Puslinch from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Funeral service will begin at 11:30 am.
