Passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Guelph General Hospital at the age of 82 years.

Beloved wife of Tom (2009) for 47 years.  Dear mother of Karen, Graeme (Dorothy) and Joyce (Rob) Sanvido, all of Guelph. Much loved Grandma of Andrew (Jen), Daniel and Derek McKeown and Ben and Adam Sanvido.  Adored Gigi to Hazel, Ephraim, Theo and Henry.  Predeceased by her parents John & Edith Pratt and sister Edie McGuigan. Will be sadly missed by sister Nan Iselin, brother-in-law Joe McGuigan and many nephews and nieces. Dearest friend of Frances (John, 2024) Jack.

Over fifty-eight years ago, Eleanor and Tom, with two small children in tow, started their journey to Guelph from Scotland. She quickly settled in making Guelph her home and made many lifelong friends along the way. She especially enjoyed the “Timmies Coffee Group”, where they spent hours chatting about everything and anything. She had various jobs in town and picked up many passions along the way including bowling, curling, golfing, and weekends at the trailer in Pike Lake. She was an avid knitter and seamstress and enjoyed making creations for friends and family, and teaching others these skills. Her love and enthusiasm for singing was well-known and she became the lead singer of The Wheels in the 70’s and 80’s.

Mom found immense joy in spending time with her family. Whether it was family get-togethers or simply hanging out together – she was always eager to tell us her well-loved stories. She would brag to anyone who would listen about her wonderful family. Her life was filled with family, friendships, love, laughter and cherished memories. She will not be forgotten.

The family would like to provide their heartfelt thanks to all the EMS and hospital staff that helped that night. Your compassion, empathy and skills at your jobs got us through.

A memorial service will be held at Crestwicke Baptist Church, 400 Speedvale Ave. E., Guelph on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Lung Association are appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Eleanor McKeown in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
