Passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday, February 21, 2025. Isabel Mendes Martins in her 89th year was the beloved wife of the late Jose Toste Martins (2011). She was the loving mother of Anabela (Moises Martins) and Leslie Martins. Isabel is fondly remembered by her granddaughter Nadia. Predeceased by her parents Antonio and Isabel. In-laws Jose and Adelaide. Son-in-law Mike Cosgrove. Brother-in-laws Francisco O., Luis M., Antonio B., Manuel M., Luis M., Antonio M., and sister-in-law Maria R., brothers Jose M., Antonio M., and sister Angelina M. Nephew Luis M. She was the dear sister of Maria, Deloures, Teresa (Francisco), Iria, Carolina, Joao (Lucelina), Raimundo (Ana Maria), Francisco (Maria Dilia). Sister-in-laws Eulalia, Alcina, Maria Isabel, Dorinha, and Maria Lucia, and by many nieces and nephews.
Resting at the Gilbert Macintyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive their friends on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church 409 Paisley St., Guelph, on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10 a.m. Interment at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
