Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Friday, June 16th 2017. Beloved husband of Maria (Da Maren). Loving father of Edward (Rosanna), Sandra (George May) and Marisa (Behnam Ghomeshi). Much loved nonno of Sean (Linn Wie Andersen), Ryan and Dylan Collins (along with their father Stephen Collins), Samantha and Daniel Manera, Nina and Noah Ghomeshi.

Joe will be missed by his brothers Vittorio (Rita) of Belleville and Berto (Luigina) of Italy, as well as his sister Marilena (Lorenzo) Peloso of Italy; his in-laws Assunta Manera, Vittorio Bilato; predeceased by his brothers Alphonso (Stella), Antonio and sisters Adele (Emilio) Toso, Ermalinda (Guerrino) Scapinello, and Regina Biliato. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law; Bill (Franca) Da Maren, Rosetta Lago, Lina Bresolin, Gina Martinello, Clara (John) Gazzola, Yole (John) Ostetto, Linda Da Maren, Silvano (Rita) Da Maren, Berto (Flavia) Da Maren, Fernanda (Mario) Gobbi, Daniela (Walter) Zadro, all of Guelph, and Rina (Giuseppe) Foscaro of Italy; predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Rino Da Maren, Peter Bresolin, Elario Martinello, and Peter Lago.

Many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews will miss their Zio Joe’s smiling face and happy disposition. His contributions were many, including working at Canadian General Electric, which became ABB, singing in the Coro Italiano for many years, as well as being a part of Trevisani Nel Mondo. He retired at 61 and lived life to the fullest, and was able to spend many good years creating amazing memories that we will all cherish forever.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Street on Monday, June 19th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 409 Paisley Road, Guelph on Tuesday, June 20th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington or to St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
