Passed away peacefully August 25, 2024, at the age of 90.

Beloved wife of the late Henrick John Malik. Dear sister of Parvaiz, Shamim, and Zareen and their spouses. Predeceased by sisters Stella, Pansy, and Nasreen. Cherished mother of Rommel, Rubina, Rowena and Rebecca and their spouses John Howard and Tony Bone and their families. Adored grandmother to grandchildren Madeline, Bianca, Zara, Sienna, Devon, Daniel, Shaunna, Corey, Eric, their spouses, and three great grandchildren, Sylvia, Angela and Greig, and countless nephews and nieces.

Nancy will be remembered fondly over the course of her long life which took her from Pakistan to Ohio to British Columbia and then finally Ontario. She made close friends and connections everywhere she went and touched the lives of so many. She loved entertaining and cooking and she warmly opened her home to all including her brothers-in-law when they first immigrated to Canada. One of her nephews when reflecting on her life recently said, “she was the glue of the family”.

She had a passion for music. With a Masters in Education she taught music in grade school. She also played numerous instruments including the sitar and the Dholak drum and performed at many wedding celebrations. She later taught ESL (English as a Second Language) to new immigrants in Canada. She was passionate about giving new Canadians the best chance of success.

Her patient nature, calm and gentle personality and love and kindness towards others will be remembered by all who were privileged to know her.
