LESSEL, Arthur George “Bud”

April 18, 1927 – November 4, 2016

Passed away peacefully at the Grand River Hospital - Freeport Site, in his 90th year. Son of the late Edwin and Flora (Glover) Lessel. Arthur was predeceased by his first wife, Elma (Wellman) Lessel; his brother, Jack Lessel; his sister, Lornie Ostrander; and his stepson Thomas Rogers. He was loved and respected by his children, Edwin Lessel (Kathy Underhill), Virginia Rogers and Philip Lessel (Kathy) Lessel, and his stepdaughter Mary Rogers Holmes (Aig). Arthur was the grandfather to seven wonderful grandchildren, Dylan, Peter, Brandon, Courtney, Michelle, Alexander and Emily. He will also be sadly missed by the woman who loved him for sixty years, his wife, Sally Rogers. 
Bud was actively engaged in social and civic functions. He had a life membership at the Young Men's Canadian Club; he was a past president of Gyro International Club of America, Toronto Chapter; he was past president of the American Concrete Institute, Ontario Chapter; and he was past president of the Scarborough East riding of the provincial Conservative party. Bud worked in the engineering part of the construction industry. He started as a draftsman, became a specification writer and eventually, for two and a half decades, a sales representative of structural precast, prestressed concrete and other concrete products. 
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will follow at a later date.
