Ronald Lefneski 1933 - 2024
Ron was the beloved husband of Doreen, loving father of the late Peter (2022), Kathleen (Mike), Stephen (Liz), Mark and Heather (Paul). Devoted son of the late Mildred and Joseph Lefneski. He was the loving brother of Roy (Marilyn) and the late Alvin (Pat) and late Carl (Helga). Ron was a loving brother-in-law, uncle and grandfather and great grandfather.
Ron was a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute and a retired Chief Building Official for the city of Guelph. Ron had many interests and hobbies during his adult lifetime. He was a builder: designed two modern houses and built them on evenings and weekends. He was a hobby farmer: managed a woodlot, raising chickens, and even had a couple cows, a dozen mink and enjoyed planting a large vegetable garden. He was an avid golfer: a member of the Cutten Club and an avid fan of the sport. His hobbies included: bread baker, wine maker, ornithology, wood carving, playing bridge, and reading the Globe to keep up to date with politics, world events and business news.
In summers Ron and Doreen did extensive hiking, and wilderness canoe tripping, and later enjoyed summers car camping with a tent trailer and bird watching. During retirement they enjoyed spending winters with other retiree friends in Portugal.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph’s Health Guelph for their dedication and service. - The family would be grateful for donations to the Alzheimer Society, St Vincent de Paul Society or St Joseph Church Renovation Fund.
A Memorial Mass for Ron will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph's Church (409 Paisley Rd, Guelph) followed by a reception in the church hall. Cremation has taken place, private interment at a later date.
