After living a beautiful, loving life, we are sad to share that Marilyn passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the age of 84 on February 1, 2025.
Marilyn held an amazing place in the hearts of her husband, Robert (Bob) Langlois (deceased), her children Jeff (Lori) of Guelph, Jacquie Harris (Joe) of Boca Raton, Keith (Malanie) of Guelph. Loved grandmother of Winston, Jesse, Scott, Marc, Ashley, Brittany, Alyssa, Faith, and Olivia. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren Aiden, Su-Ann, Caleb, Myca, Reid, Kellan, Conleigh, Alexis, Jordanna, Poppy and the newest arrival, Oliver.
Marilyn was born in Windsor, Ontario to Harry & Bertha (Bondy) Jewel whom both have predeceased her. She is loved by her sister Joan (Jewel) (late Dave) Ireland and many nieces and nephews.
Having lived in Guelph for most of her life she established herself in the community through her faith and generosity. After retiring from the University of Guelph, Marilyn poured herself into donating her time and efforts to many entities including the Catholics Women’s League, Gift Shops at St. Joseph’s, St. John’s, and most recently The Basilica. In the past she volunteered at The Homewood, Hospice, and donated to many other Charities.
Marilyn always had a smile on her face and was the first person to offer help. Nourished by her Church involvement, her Mag 7 group, and her prayer group; she had many friends surrounding her always. Her favorite pastimes were genealogy, painting, journaling, party planning, decorating, and shopping.
The family will receive their friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. A Vigil for Marilyn will be held at the funeral home at 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady 28 Norfolk St., Guelph on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow.
A Celebration of her Life will follow the Service in The Basilica basement. After the Eulogy, we look forward to everyone sharing their favorite stories of Marilyn.
As expressions of sympathy donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandsonfuneralhome.com
