Elfriede Lange (nee Winterbauer) born May 14,1931 in Bremen, Germany, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, (2013) Guenter Gerhard Lange of Bahrenbusch, Germany, and her son Hans Guenter Lange (2018). Elfie is survived by her son Werner Lange (Evelyne) daughter Evelyn Simpson (Keith) and Daughter in law Rosalyn. Also Grandchildren Martin (Christina), Amanda (Mark) Ben (Kathryn) Kyle (Mariah) Rane (Rashmi) and Hans Gerhard. Also great grandchildren Evannie, Owen, Elise, Oliver, Zoe, Ryan and Geni.
Elfie and Guenter started life in Canada as immigrants in 1957 settling in Hamilton, then Toronto and finally buying a 50 acre farm in Wellandport where they farmed till after retirement when they sold the farm and had a new house built in Beamsville.
They travelled together to Germany, Poland, England, Cuba, BC, Alberta, and Florida. After Guenter’s death Elfie moved to Acton to be close to family and did a lot of travelling on her own with trips to BC, Mexico and the Philippines twice. Elfie moved to Stone Lodge in Guelph in 2023 and met new friends in Fran and Bob as well as others and enjoyed her last months there very much. She had a very good Christmas with visits from family far and near and spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with all her family around her. She had a good life and is now with her beloved Guenter who she missed dearly every day.
