He passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 with his loving grandson, Zach, by his side, at Guelph General Hospital at the age of 75. Rick worked as a carpenter for most of his life and was well-known for his strong work ethic. He took pride in being a good provider for his family, and his down-to-earth nature made him a beloved figure among those who knew him. He loved hunting and cherished the simple pleasures of life. He also enjoyed his many ups and downs at the casino.

Rick is survived by his two sons, Dave (Michelle) and Brian (CherylAnn), as well as his proud grandchildren: Zachary (Sam), Caitlyn (Nathan), Skylar (Will), Wyatt, Oliver and Charlie. He was also a great-grandfather to Hailey, a role he cherished deeply.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Vera (Tony), his brother Wally (Glennis), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly, especially Ingrid, Ritchie and Adam. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Antoni and Marianna and his brother John.

Rick will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A Committal Ceremony will be held at Marymount Cemetery (5400 Hwy 6, Guelph) on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:30 am followed by a Celebration of Rick’s Life at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home (1099 Gordon St. Guelph) from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. Rest in peace, Rick. You will be deeply missed by all.
