Stan passed away peacefully with his wife by side on July 23rd, 2024 at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife Michele, and his children Alison Steele (Shane), Lauren Hogg (Andrew), Colleen Collins (Michael) and Keith (Nicole). He was predeceased by his parents, Stan and Nelly, and his son Connor. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Casper Adam, Clark and Georgia Steele, and Elise Hogg.

Stan was born in Slikkerveer, Holland, and came to Canada with his family when he was just 4 years old. He was the only member of his family not to get sick on the boat ride over. He was a proud Canadian citizen, who never forgot his roots in Holland, frequently attending the Dutch Toko to remind him of home.

Stan spent all of his Canadian life in Guelph, Ontario, where he had his children, and met his wife Michele. Stan and Michele met while working together in 1986. They later married in 1991 and spent 38 beautiful years together. They spent their years trying local restaurants, traveling to Florida and Kincardine, and enjoying their favorite musicians.

Stan was happy with his career, working as a warehouse manager for Brewers Retail, and later a homebuilder for Fusion Homes. He appreciated waking up every morning and getting to work outside.

Stan enjoyed listening to music, watching his favorite sports, completing his at home projects, spending time with his wife and children, and most importantly, going for car rides with his dog.

Stan was a man of few words but only because he chose them carefully. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, who will all miss him and his sarcastic humor dearly.

A short burial ceremony will be taking place on Wednesday, July 31st at 11:00 am, at Marymount Cemetery located at 5400 Sideroad 6 South, Guelph, please meet at the front gates.
