Passed away peacefully in the arms of her family at the St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre, on 22 September 2016. Mildred was born 12 March 1922 and grew up in rural Ontario along with 10 siblings coming to Guelph in the early 1940’s to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital and later marrying her late husband John who predeceased her in 1974. She is also predeceased by daughter Gail and son Robert. Mildred leaves behind two sons Dennis (Lois) Ottawa and Wayne (Karen) Guelph who gave her the light of her life; her three grandchildren Derek (Sherry), Kathy and Stephanie (Wayne); six great grandchildren and a great great grandson. Mildred was a long time Zellers employee where she gathered many friends over the years. The family would like to express their gratitude to her Dodds Avenue neighbours Blanche Glendenning and Mike and Anne Belshak for all they did for Mildred over the years, it will never be forgotten. To the staff of St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre, Mapleview wing, especially the nurses and hardworking PSW’s our sincere gratitude for all the heartfelt care and comfort you provided Mildred and the kindness you never failed to show her family.
