Kathleen Louisa James was born to Lovell and Vivian Lord on August 15, 1946 in Victoria, British Columbia. She grew up in London, Ontario. She trained as a physiotherapist and an osteopath, and she ran her own treatment clinic in Guelph, Ontario for many years. She and her husband, Willie James, had five children - Eli (who died very young), Jaya (Luke), Chandra (Craig), Anna (Don), and Cory (Brandie), who brought her seven grandchildren (Caleb, Ethan, Marlon, Jayden, Simone, Hendrix, and Zion) and two great grandchildren (Elijah and Delilah). Dear sister to Marilynne (Larry) and Ken (Ana Maria).

She was a deeply compassionate and generous person, always willing to help those around her and always speaking out against injustice. She died on July 24, 2024. She took a little bit of us in her going, but has left us the legacy of herself in return.

The family expresses its deep appreciation and thanks to the many health care professionals who cared for her. In lieu of flowers Canadian family and friends are encouraged to donate to First Baptist Church (https://fbcg.ca/giving/), Guelph or Hope House Guelph (https://www.hopehouseguelph.ca/donate). American family and friends are encouraged to donate to Michael J. Quaid and Willie C. James Memorial Ambulance Service via The Ecological Development Foundation, Inc 18991 Park Commons Drive, Bend Oregon 97701 - put "Ambulance" in the memo line.
