Passed away at home on Thursday June 15, 2017 in her 81 year after a short battle with lung cancer.
In 1954, Lucille emigrated to Montreal from her home in Bermuda with her best friend Aileen Moore (nee Thatcher). In 1958 she married Lawrence Jackson. They had four children, Alex (Reinie), Christena, Victoria and Edward and have three grandchildren Corrie Jackson, Kyle Jackson and Hannah Reilly Jackson.
Lucille was predeceased by brother Owen Lewis who is survived by his wife Martha, and predeceased by brother Stanley (Jackie) Lewis who is survived by his wife Mary and by her brothers Robert ( Skippy) (and his wife Valerie) Lewis and Peter Lewis and sisters Stephanie Humphrey and Georgetta ( Danny) Ray, all of whom reside in Bermuda.
Lucille was an avid painter all her life. She enjoyed her family, her Bernese dog Marley, travelling and time in her garden.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph N1H 4K3 on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 12 noon. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Lucille E. Jackson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
