It is with sadness that his family announces the passing of Larry, in his 81st year. Larry passed away following a courageous battle with lung cancer on May 15th, 2018 at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Guelph.

Larry leaves behind his beautiful daughter Jackie, two grandchildren Jamie and Perry (Guelph); as well as nieces and nephew Linda (Sacramento, California) Lisa (St. Catharines) and Jim (Waterloo).

Predeceased by his parents William James (Jim) Hill (d.1970) and Margaret (d. 1993); by siblings Russell (infancy), John (Jack) (d.1944, KIA, WWII Overseas), Norman (Bunker)(d. 1997)and his wife Eula (d. 2002) and half-sister Ruth.

A lifelong resident of Guelph, Larry was well known to many. He worked for Electrolux in Kitchener for 2 decades (1958 – 1993). In retirement, Larry dedicated his time and energy to volunteering at the Guelph Drop In Centre, Dwelling Place and Yorkhaven. He was honoured with the Mayor’s Community Volunteer of the Year Award in 2010.

A special thank you to all the friends and family who aided and supported Larry in the last few months of his life. That gift has been precious and priceless to him. The kindness and love you showed him has been cherished and will be forever in our prayers.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on the second floor of the Guelph Drop-In Centre, 23 Gordon St., Guelph, on June 15th, 2018 at 1130 a.m. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Guelph.

In Larry's memory donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Guelph Drop in Centre. Donation cards are available at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home (519-822-4731).
