It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John R Hammill on November 4, 2024, age 93, at Hospice Wellington, surrounded by family.
Beloved Husband to the late Mary (nee Dorner). Loving father of Jeffrey and Dana. Proud grandfather to Thomas, Robbie, Jadon, Lisa and Andrew. Proud great grandfather to Logan, Griffin and Austin. Dear brother of the late Kenneth and William. He will be missed by all his extended family
Born in Guelph, later moving to Huntsville during his younger years and again returning to Guelph to begin high school.
John was a partner with his brother William in J.P. Hammill & Sons Limited. The family business was founded in Guelph in 1929 by John's grandfather. Operating through 5 generations manufacturing work wear for Canadians.
He loved boating on Georgian Bay and the challenges of business and commerce.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday December 5, 2024, from 12:00-2:00pm. A family inurnment to follow at Mount View Cemetery, 80 Blenheim Road, Cambridge, ON.
