Betty was born in Dromore, Ontario. She was a teacher in Southampton, Holstein area, and Arkell where she taught at one room schoolhouses, and eventually at College Avenue School where she taught grade 7 science. Southampton is where she met her handsome husband Leonard and they had 65 years of marriage. Their biggest love was building and then enjoying their cottage at Sauble Beach. She loved to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would often take them for rides on her walker. She loved watching the Blue Jays and never missed a game. She even kept track of their batting averages and other statistics. Betty also had strong faith and belonged to the Arkell United Church. She taught Sunday school and was part of their UCW and the choir.

She loved life and life was good to her. She certainly knew how to grow old gracefully.

A big thanks to the Guelph General Hospital. We cannot thank the nurses and staff enough at Hospice Wellington for their care during her stay.
