Quietly on the morning of November 6th 2024 at Hospice Wellington, Douglas Peter Alexander Gilchrist at the age of 66 years.
Loving husband of Leslie (Fagan/Matthews) Gilchrist. Devoted and proud father and papa of Kayla (David) and their children Max and Marlowe; Alex (Danielle) and their children Noah, Easton, Stella and Penelope. Dear brother of Marion Gilchrist, Helen Hall and Phyllis Kirk (Wayne). Son of the late Harold and Anabel (Sage) Gilchrist. Lovingly remembered by Leanne (Scott) & Derrick Matthews (Emma). My family has been my world.
Doug Gilchrist came to Guelph in 1980 purchasing what was then known as McIntyre and Wilkie Funeral Home. Doug faithfully served and cared for the families of Guelph for 35 years. Funeral Service was not only a career but a passion throughout his life. Active in many professional and civic boards and organizations especially Trillium Masonic Lodge A.F.& A.M. No 724 G.R.C. where he served as Master as well as the Scottish Rite. Past President of the Royal City Kiwanis Club.

Friends may call at the former GILCHRIST CHAPEL-McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home (Brombal Funeral Home) One Delhi Street, Guelph on Friday, November 8th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Lakeside Church, 7654 Conservation Rd. Guelph on Saturday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
