It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Mary Patricia Gadsby (nee Henry, formerly Klie) on September 13, 2024 at Hospice Wellington in Guelph.

She was the beloved wife of Ross Gadsby, sister of Jack (predeceased), mother of Donna (Kelly), Karen (Richard), Brenda (Crawford) and Gary (Erica). Stepmother to Susan (Francis) and Wayne (Darlene). Grandmother to Gabriel (Alessandra), Simon (Laura), Nicole (Giancarlo), Sydney, Grant, Ryan, Jasmine, Bennett and Everett. Step-grandmother to Alyssa and Vanessa. Great-grandmother to Giulia, Paige and Elyse.

Pat was born in Kirkland Lake Ontario to Doris and Nathan Henry and resided there until she moved to Toronto to pursue a career in nursing.

Pat had varied interests, gave generously of her time, and was busy and active until shortly before her death. She was a master quilter and seamstress with many of her beautiful quilts residing with her grateful family. One of her quilts was displayed in the Belleville Art Gallery. Many more were displayed at various quilt shows. The Christmas stockings she made for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are cherished possessions. She was a devout Anglican Church member who attended regularly and played the organ and piano for the church and other organizations.

Pat was compassionately cared for at Hospice Wellington and her family are thankful to the staff for easing her passing.

Her memorial will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at All Saint’s Lutheran Anglican Church, 210 Silvercreek Pkwy N, in Guelph at 1:30 pm with reception to follow in the church hall. The internment will take place on a future date in Kirkland Lake so that she may rest with her parents.

Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).

Pat supported a large number of charities worldwide and, in lieu of flowers, donations to Doctors Without Borders or Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of M. Patricia Gadsby in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
