Of Guelph, passed away suddenly at Guelph General Hospital on Monday, November 25th, 2024, at age 82.
Beloved husband of Margit Futo (nee Dalmi). Loving son of the late Andras Futo and the late Anna Roza Molnar. Loving and loved father of Erika Futo (Pim Peterse), and Agnes Futo (Naseer Ahmad). Loving grandfather of Jorah Peterse, Hallisa Peterse, Aruna Futo Ahmad, Raven Futo Ahmad, Soriya Futo Ahmad, and Gabriel Futo Ahmad.
Survived by his wife, Margit Futo, and his two sisters.
Andrew was born on July 20th, 1942, in Debrecen, Hungary. He met his future wife, Margit, at the age of 14, and married at the age of 22. He loved travelling, history, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He was a mountain climber who loved the outdoors, kayaking, and swimming. His mountain climbing achievements include Mont Blanc and Grossglockner in The Alps, Mount Etna, Mount Vesuvius, The Tatra Mountains, The Rila & Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria, and The Mátra & Bükk Mountains in Hungary.
He immigrated to Canada in 1985, alongside his immediate family. He and his wife worked hard to build a life in Canada for their family from the ground up. He continued his passion for travelling in The United States and Canada. He loved spending summers with his grandchildren, taking them on trips to nearby lakes and hikes.
