It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Finoro surrounded by her family at St. Joseph's Health Centre on January 14, 2024.

Loving wife to her late husband Dino (2006) for 55 years. Devoted mother to Andrew (Brigitte), Michael (Maria), Lynn (Dave) Sorbara, and Laura (Steve) Baker and predeceased by her son Andreo (1952). Proud "Granny" to John (Mary), Lucas (Tia), Claire (Albert), Sara (Blair), Noelle, David (Kelsey), Holly (Chris), Thomas, and Gillian. Treasured great grandmother to Sophie, Russell, June, Alice, Ava, Esmée, Elina, and Arlo. Cherished sister to John (Mary) and the late Angie (Sister Giovanni). Predeceased by her parents Vito and Grace Finoro. Mary was the much beloved sister-in-law to Jeanette (late Don Shaver), Doreen (late Pete Stradiotto), Rose (late George Raso), Doll (Jay Fox), the late Gloria and Ken McKenzie, Maria (late Rafaele D'Orazio), Rosanna (late Giovanni Finoro). Mary will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends in both Canada and Italy.

Mary, an avid traveler, found joy in exploring the wonders of the world and creating cherished memories along the way.

Born with a love for celebration, Mary's gatherings were marked by the warmth of family, the joy of laughter, and the aroma of delicious food. Her culinary prowess transformed ordinary moments into celebrations, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and taste buds of those fortunate enough to share in her feasts.

A woman of unwavering faith, Mary's strong Catholic beliefs were the cornerstone of her life. She found solace, guidance, and immense comfort in her relationship with God. Together with her late husband Dino, Mary ensured that their travels always included time for Mass, a testament to the deep roots of their faith and the importance of spiritual connection.

Mary's legacy lives on in the countless memories of shared adventures, the aroma of festive meals, and her genuine connection with her faith.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Joseph's Health Centre and Dr. MacPherson for their compassion and exceptional care over the years.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph where the family invites friends and relatives for a visitation on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 409 Paisley Road, Guelph, on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10am. Entombment to follow at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, 5400 Highway 6, Guelph.

As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Health Centre or the Canadian Foundation for the Children of Haiti.
