Passed away in her sleep on September 12, 2024 at the age of 79. Diane was the beloved wife of Bruno (predeceased) for 55 wonderful years. Treasured and deeply missed mother of Jeff (Juli), Rob (Cheryl) Maria Dilello (Desi) and Jason (Christine). Loving and proud Grandma of Kirsten, Tyler, Ryan, Rhett, Haley (Liam), Quinton, Dante, Mya, Savannah, Skyla, Blaize, Caitlyn (Jordan) and Kylee. Survived by several cherished siblings and family.
Mom’s life was always focused around her family. In the early days, that meant making sure all of us were at the family table for dinner each and every night. As her family expanded it meant either hosting her kids and grandkids for holidays and special events or bringing her famous pizza and lasagna to the party. In her later years, mom always made the effort to be there for every event no matter how large or small. She was at her happiest when she was surrounded by family. Above all else, there was a special place in mom’s heart for her grandkids. She always wanted to know what was happening in the lives of her grandkids to no matter how significant or routine. Her smile was brightest when they were in the room.
Though every day of mom’s life was filled with events and activities, we all knew there was a large hole created in her heart when she lost dad almost two years ago. Though those last years were filled with purpose and smiles, it was evident that dad was sorely missed in her life. Mom’s last day on this earth was highlighted with a trip to the cemetery to visit dad on what would have been his 81st birthday. There’s no doubt they’re together right now celebrating that belated event.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph (519-821-5077). Family invite friends and relatives to a visitation on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00am in the funeral home's Hart Chapel. Burial to follow at Marymount Catholic Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6 North, Guelph. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane's memory can be made to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital.
