The family of Elizabeth Ecclestone is sad to announce her passing on Thursday, July 25 at the age of 101.

Elizabeth was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to William and Lillian (Elliott) Ecclestone.

Predeceased by her brothers Jack and Robert. Also by nephews Jack Jr. and Keith and her niece Margaret Kwan. Survived by Alfred Kwan. She was the special aunt to Eric (Kathy) and Bob Ecclestone. Great aunt to Rachael (Peter), Janna (Mike) and Lee (Jess) Ecclestone and to Edward (Hazel), Jeffery (Katrina) and Andrew (Raviella) Kwan. She was a great-great aunt to their families.

Elizabeth taught for many years in Guelph and area, most notably at Victory Public School. She was a long-time member of Dublin Street United Church and a Life Member of the United Church Women’s Association as well as The Retired Women Teachers Organization.

Elizabeth participated in various sports throughout her life including curling, skiing and swimming. She enjoyed travelling with friends to many parts of the world in her earlier years.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff, PSWs and nurses at Eden House Care Facility who took such great care of Elizabeth over the last five months. We also acknowledge her good friend Jane who visited her often, much to Elizabeth’s delight.

Friends will be received at Brombal Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Tuesday, July 30th from 10-11am, followed by a service in the Chapel at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions to the Community Living Guelph Wellington would be appreciated.
