Elsa passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital on the morning of Monday, February 10, 2025, at the age of 67. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and friends during her last days. Elsa will be dearly missed by her husband, Dale Dunsmoor, sons David (Flavia) and Adam (Elisha), stepson Shawn (Carolyn), grandchildren Isabel, Desmond, Caleb, Sage, Erica, Ryan and Nash - all of whom she loved deeply.

Born and raised in Guelph, Ontario, Elsa was the youngest child of the late Mario and Francesca Milani. She was the cherished sister of Leda (Ciano) Cassolato and the brother of the late Frank Milani. Elsa grew up within a close-knit Italian family community and set up roots of her own in the small village of Aboyne, Ontario where she lived for 45 years. Elsa was curious, honest, dedicated, and always learning. While working full time and raising her sons, she studied business at Wilfrid Laurier University. The majority of her professional career was spent at Biltmore Hats and recently Royal City Warehouse, where she proudly managed the business for over twenty years.

Elsa had a strong passion and talent for interior design, her flair and expertise was revered by many. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening and landscaping and absolutely loved reading books. Her exceptional cooking and baking skills, especially her lasagna and cakes, brought family and friends together.

Elsa was welcoming, warm, and thoughtful; she was often the life of the party and able to brighten a room with her enthusiasm. We miss her so much and will treasure her memory.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to the doctors, nurses, caring staff, and volunteers at Groves Memorial Hospital, Grand River Regional Cancer Center, Guelph General Hospital and Bayshore Nursing.

A celebration of life is planned for Monday, February 17th, at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home (1099 Gordon St, Guelph, ON) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm with words of remembrance at 12 noon. The family asks that any donations in Elsa’s name be made out to Groves Memorial Hospital or Grand River Regional Cancer Center.
