September 9, 1938 – December 18, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Amanda Estela Di Santo (nee Savorani) on December 18, 2024. Amanda was born on September 9, 1938, in Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina. She moved with her family to Canada in April 1978, where she built a beautiful life rooted in love, warmth, and family.

Amanda is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Raul Osvaldo Di Santo, whom she married in February 1960. She was the beloved daughter of Juan Savorani and Eleonora Somare, both of whom preceded her in death.

She will be deeply missed by her children: Guillermo Di Santo (Yanina Vega), Adriana Di Santo Ricci (Claudio Ricci), Maria Eugenia Di Santo (Sebastian Cordova), and Jose Luis Di Santo (Gigi Di Santo). She now joins her cherished daughter, Maria Elena Di Santo, who passed in 1991.

Amanda’s love extended to her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Nona": Jonathan, Giselle, Gianni (Megan), Joshua (Ashley), Guillermo "Memo" (Nikole), Mateo (Erica), Ali, Paulina, Sebastian Jr "Tata", Maria Elena, Orlando, Zoltan, Santiago, Laura (Rory), and Alex. Her great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Nonita" or "Little Nona", include Gabriella, Izabella, Adrian, Olivia, Rafael, Matea, Luca, Tiago, Francesca, and Mila.

Amanda is also survived by her brother, Marcos Savorani, and her nephew, Maximiliano. She is predeceased by her niece, Valeria. Amanda leaves behind her family and friends in Argentina and Canada, including those from the church community at St. John's in Guelph.

A Life Full of Love
Amanda’s priority was always the well-being of her family. She had a passion for cooking, baking, and decorating cakes for her loved ones, as well as sewing and knitting to ensure her family was always cared for. Her homemade pasta was legendary, and her warm, open home became a sanctuary for family and friends alike.

She embraced every opportunity to bring people together, whether for a celebration or a simple gathering over “mate.” Her sense of humor, bright energy, and loving banter filled every space with joy and happiness.

Amanda was the matriarch of her family, the glue that kept everyone together, and the heart that beat strongest for those she loved. Her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Private Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Church 45 Victoria Rd N., Guelph on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Private interment of ashes at Holy Sepulchre Cemetey, Burlington.

A Celebration of Amanda’s Life will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 10 am – 12 noon.
