With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Russell "Russ" DeForest at Guelph General Hospital after a valiant fight on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the age of 71. He is now reunited with his late wife Sandra "Sandy" McDonald. Beloved stepfather to Emily McDonald (Cameron Lewis) and predeceased by his son Russell "Rusty" DeForest. Cherished grandfather to Russell Evan DeForest Jr. and brother to Donna Wood (Ed) and Margaret Monk (Spencer). He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
A special thank you to the Guelph General Hospital staff for their kindness and compassion, specifically Dr. Cassandra Graham and Nurse Cody. As per Russell's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. In memory of Russell, a kind smile to a stranger would be appreciated.
