Born in 1937, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 22, 2025 at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home in Fergus, after a several-year decline from Alzheimer’s.

Russell is survived by Elaine, his wife of 40 years, son Mark (Laura), daughter Janet (Gary) and six grandchildren.

After ordination to ministry in the United Church of Canada, and post-graduate studies at Union Seminary in New York City, Russell served pastorates in Sarnia, Guelph and Brantford, Ontario, and then in Victoria, B.C. He was also proud to serve as President of Hamilton Conference in 1979.

He was a passionate preacher and a gentle, caring pastor. He was a life-long, avid golfer and a Master Bridge player.

Many thanks to the staff at Wellington Terrace and to Dr. J. Stickney for their kindness and care.

Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
