August 26, 1954 – March 13, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share that on March 13, 2025, Ray passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness. He lived life on his own terms—and left it the same way.
Ray grew up in Guelph, where he made lifelong friends and packed in plenty of adventures. After leaving ABB, he worked in IT in Montreal before retiring in Beeton, where he embraced the next chapter, always finding new friends and things to love.
Sports were a big part of his life. He started playing hockey at six and kept at it well into his 50s. In retirement, he swapped the rink for long-distance cycling and hiking, always with his loyal dog, Vee, by his side. He found peace in nature and passed that love on to his kids, leading them to his favourite trails and hidden spots.
Music was another constant. He had a knack for discovering bands before they got big and loved sharing his latest finds. From records to tapes, CDs to MP3s, he rebuilt his collection every time—ending with a carefully curated Spotify playlist.
More than anything, Ray valued freedom. Whether on a motorcycle, a bicycle, or behind the wheel, he was always chasing the open road.
But above all, he loved his family. He was a devoted father to Nicole (Ryan), Renee (Sean), Julien (Shaniqua), and Sophie (Ash), and a proud grandfather to Victoria. He was predeceased by his mother, Leona; his brothers, Bobby and Ron; and his sisters, Diane and Ann. He leaves behind his sisters Suzanne and Louise, many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and wonderful neighbours who will miss him deeply.
Cremation has taken place, and further details will be shared at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham. www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com
