CLAYTON, Timothy John Powis - Passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 31, 2022, at Hospice Wellington.
Moving to Canada from England in 1980, Tim and his wife Carol set down their roots in Guelph, Ontario, where together they built a loving home for their two daughters. Tim forged an illustrious career, working both in the private and public sectors as a pioneer in the computer industry.
Tim was a kind and loving husband to Carol, wonderful and proud father to Molly and Natalie, incredible father-in-law to Brandon Bowler and devoted grandfather to Georgia and Willow… all of whom will miss him dearly.
He will also be missed by his brother (Mick Clayton), sister (Jane Meechan) and sister-in-law (Marcia Christensen), along with the many other family members and friends whose lives he touched.
To know Tim was to love Tim.
He always saw the good in the world and cared deeply about all of humankind.
He loved music, nature and history. He also loved reading and learning new things about the world and the universe… and he loved sharing that knowledge with anyone who would listen.
He was creative, with a generous spirit. Tim loved to laugh and had a great sense of humour. But above all else, Tim loved his family.
We know that he will be welcomed to the heavens with open arms by his late mother (Betty Clayton), father (Jim Clayton), mother-in-law (Marie Gunning), and father-in-law (Charlie Gunning), and that he’ll once again hear the soft purrs of his beloved pets, Mittens, Buffy and Calvin.
Tim - your kind spirit and gentle soul will be with us always.
We would like to thank Dr. Spadafora, whose progressive and holistic approach to medicine, and caring nature, gave us so much hope and optimism as we fought for Tim’s health and well-being.
To honour and pay respects to Tim, a small visitation will be held on Sunday April 10, 2022 from 2-4pm at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph.
We will be forever grateful to the staff, nurses and volunteers at Hospice Wellington who went above and beyond to provide Tim and our whole family with such beautiful and compassionate end-of-life care. Memorial donations to this special organization are appreciated (www.hospicewellington.org).
“Do not think of me as gone. I am with you in each dawn” (Native Prayer)
A tree will be planted in memory of Timothy J.P. Clayton in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
