Bill fought hard to stay with us. December 28, 2024, he lost the battle and is now free of the pain.

He leaves behind a large family who will miss him. Dad or stepdad; he had a knack for being just Dad, no matter what!

Bill will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Kari; children, Caleb, Aidan, Aimee, Sara (Stephan), Joel (Lisa), Lauren (Nathan); grandchildren, Noah, Ellyot, Elias; sisters, Carolyn (Paul), Barb (Rob); mother-in-law, Barbara Crittenden; and his favorite dog, Toby.

Bill was predeceased by parents, Bill and Ida Clarke and father-in-law Ralph Crittenden.

Bill loved his work; it was his job and his hobby. As a financial planner in Edmonton, he built up his business and flourished. His dream was to leave a legacy for his kids and he did! He indulged his wife Kari in extensive travel. Finally achieving his dream trip in 2023 to Africa. Bill loved sports, playing ball and hockey as a kid, and continuing to play ball as a young adult, and becoming a proficient golfer throughout his adult years. With his wife and kids, he made a home a place with something for everyone. His imprint will always be felt on all the projects we all completed together. He loved his dog, his rescue beagle, Toby.

Bill endured his battle with cancer with grace. He chose to spend his final weeks at the Roozen Family Hospice in Edmonton. All doctors, nurses, aides, volunteers are exceptional people. It was an environment of peace, welcome and calm. We wish to express our gratitude to each and everyone there who was part of Bill’s journey.

A special thanks to Jim and Karen, Andy and Joan who made numerous, often daily trips to hospital in spring and hospice in December just to be there. Also, special thanks to all family who traveled, sometimes several times, to make sure Bill could visit while he could enjoy the company. Also heartfelt thanks to those friends who were there whenever any of us needed you.

Donations would be greatly accepted in Bill’s memory to the Roozen Family Hospice Centre, 9808-148 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5N 3E8.
