Born April 14th, 1933, Fred passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024 in his 92nd year.
Beloved husband of Maureen (Marshall) Cabeldu for 67 years. Loved father of Victor (Nadine) Cabeldu of Antigonish, NS and Jeffrey Cabeldu of Powassan, ON. Loving grandfather to Valentina (Raul) Zepeda of Fergus, ON and Daniel Cabeldu of Waterloo, ON and cherished great grandchildren Suri and Remi Zepeda of Fergus.
Predeceased by his parents, Harold & Loretta Cabeldu, brothers Donald Cabeldu (Joan), Harold Jr. (Ilene), sisters Doreen (Gaeten) Godbout and Irene (Don) Humphries. Survived by sister Jaqueline McGladrey (the late Ken) and many caring nieces and nephews.
Fred was a devoted husband and they loved to dance together for many years, starting at Paradise Gardens with many good friends.
Fred was a hard worker and loved looking after his property, he also was one of the first backhoe operators in Guelph; and was the proud owner of “Cabeldu Backhoe Service” for over 35 years; and worked at it till he was 84 years old.
He also was a great self-taught stone mason and made many beautiful things. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Caressant Care in Fergus for all the loving care shown to Fred in his last few months there and also the family.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Revelation 21:4: And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
