It is with immense sadness that family and friends say goodbye to Judith (Judy) Caroline Struan Burnett (Tough), age 67 years.

Judy passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington surrounded by family on October 4, 2024. Judy was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Booth Burnett (2005) and proud mother of Fiona. She was the dear sister of Murray and Carole, and daughter of the late Ian and Ann Tough (Robertson). Judy will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Kenneth, Keith, Jillian, Jennifer, Daniel, and Timothy, along with family and friends in both Canada and the UK.

Judy’s legacy as an anaesthesiologist will live on through her cherished colleagues at both the Guelph General Hospital and the Homewood Health Centre. She will be remembered as a compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable physician. Judy brought a kind smile and a warm presence to every room she entered. In addition to her passion for her work, Judy was a devoted musician and avid traveller. Judy passed on her love of travel to her daughter and together they travelled to over a dozen countries, including her homeland of Scotland.

A funeral service will take place at St. George’s Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich Street, Guelph, on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. For those who are unable to attend the service but wish to watch remotely, you can do so by clicking this link to the St. George’s Anglican Church YouTube page (video to be posted soon). Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Judith (Judy) C. S. Burnett in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
