E. Anne Break-Jarvis of Guelph passed away at Freeport Hospital on Friday, November 24th, 2023, at the age of 79.

She leaves behind her husband John Jarvis, her son David (Sofie) Break, as well as stepchildren Jennifer Hatch, Victor (Christie) Jarvis and Cobey (Bob) Jarvis. Grandchildren Amelia and Owen, as well as Ali, Mel, Zack, Christopher, Victoria, Lily, Samantha, Darcy, and Bobby-Jo.  She also had a very special reunion with her daughter, Patty (Skip) Smith and even more grandchildren, Erin (Ryan) Kaufman and Amy Smith (Wade Armstrong) and great-grandchildren Memphis and Briggs Kaufman…. but this is a story for another time.

Anne had a long career as an elementary school teacher at Rockwood Centennial where she made many lasting connections with staff and former students.

She had a passion for classic cars and even owned a few.  Through the many years of car shows and swap meets, she made lifelong friends, including her very special friend Edith who went above and beyond to comfort Anne right until the end.  Anne also made many lifelong friends during her world travels, too many to name but, Jason and Jane from England, stood out among all of them.

Much appreciation goes to the staff of both Grand River Hospital (5D South) and Freeport Campus Palliative Department, for the excellent care and compassion given to Anne.

At her request, there will be no funeral, but a private family interment will take place.  A celebration of life in the spring will be planned.  Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).

Memorial contributions to the Children’s Foundation of Guelph Wellington would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of E. Anne Break-Jarvis in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
