Glenys Anne Baxter (née McDougall), born in Eramosa Township on July 28, 1935, passed away at Stirling Heights Long Term Care Home, Cambridge on February 19, 2025, at the age of 89.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Rev. Dr. Ronald Baxter (2024), son Stephen (2016), parents Melvin and Mary McDougall, and siblings Gordon (late Gwen), Harvey (Audrey), and Ernie (Judi). She is survived by her sisters Margaret Schnurr (late Bruce), Ruth Garbutt (late Robert) and sister-in-law Sheila Baxter (late Samuel).

Glenys was a devoted mother to Stephen Baxter (Pam), Anne Cook, and Caroline Gordon (Warren). She was a cherished grandmother to Erin Melo (Andrew), Heather Baxter, Amanda and Jeff Cook, Michael (Stephanie Cote) and Stephanie Gordon. She also cherished her great-grandchildren: Peyton, Victoria, Dominic, Brandon, Brody, and Bentley. Glenys was a loving aunt and friend to many.

Glenys' profound faith in God was demonstrated through her immense love for others. She was ready to meet her Saviour and eagerly anticipated her promotion to heaven. Her greatest wish was that all would come to trust the Lord as Saviour, so she could reunite with them in heaven one day.

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

We extend our sincere gratitude to the team at Stirling Heights for their exceptional care during mom’s stay over the past three months. Their warm welcome and dedicated care made her quickly feel part of their family. Our family will be forever grateful for their kindness and support.

A visitation and celebration of life service will be held at Crestwicke Baptist Church, 400 Speedvale Ave E., Guelph, on Saturday, March 8th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, service at 2:00pm, followed by a reception. A private family interment will take place in the spring at Everton Cemetery.
