It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of June Marie Barker, in her 88th year.

She passed away at her home in Guelph, on Tuesday February 25th, 2025.

She was the beloved wife of the late Victor Barker (2023) of 69 years.

Loving mother to three, Pamela Limoges (Mike), Susie Dickson (Murray), and the late Rob (Barks) (1991). June was the cherished grandmother to four, Tiffany Jordan (Shawn), Cortney Karkoulas (Andrew), Chelsey and Brandon Dickson and GG to three, Sutton and Tenley Jordan and Yale Karkoulas, perhaps her favourite title yet. To many, she was also lovingly known as Mrs.B.

She was the dear sister to Marlene (the late Doug) Gough, the late Joyce (Dowe) Wilson and the late Carol (Keith) Bailey.

She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Having spent 30+ years in the Sunshine state for winters making countless lifelong friends and endless memories. As well as spending summers at Lake Huron surrounded by family and friends at the cottage.

She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbours. She was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was, and she led by example. She was always the first to offer help, support, words of encouragement, a warm meal, sweet treat or a hot cup of tea.

Her kitchen was always busy – the heart of our family home. But more than her cooking, it was her presence that nourished us. As we grew older, the nature of our time together changed, but her role as our guiding light never did. Our talks over cups of tea, at her kitchen table were where we shared our triumphs, our worries, our dreams – and mom (Grandma) was always there, listening with her whole heart. She had this incredible ability to offer advice that was always just what we needed to hear.

Mom (Grandma) taught us the importance of kindness, of finding joy in simple things, of always having room in our hearts for one more.

We are forever grateful for her constant source of warmth, kindness and unwavering love.  The way she faced every challenge in her life with laughter and resilience taught us how to weather our own storms.

Although she will be forever missed the seeds of her love will continue to grow in our hearts, in every flower we see, and in every gentle breeze we feel she is there.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a private internment at Dorchester Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
