Danillo Santo Baggio passed unexpectedly on Saturday, January 4, at the age of 69.

Danillo was well known and deeply respected within the community for his boundless generosity and spirit of service. As an electrician with Spartan Electric, he earned a reputation as a hardworking, skilled tradesman who dedicated himself to his craft. Retiring at the young age of 50, Danillo embraced the freedom of his retirement by pursuing his passions with vigor. He found joy in camping, fishing, and cooking, and was especially proud of his ability to prepare a hearty meal for family and friends.

An avid learner, Danillo continually developed his skills in technology and science, always eager to understand the world around him. A self-made man, he was an expert handyman who could fix, build, and create just about anything. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to a successful career in real estate, where he took pride in each project he undertook.

Danillo's legacy extends beyond his work and hobbies. He was a pillar of support for his community and was particularly known for his generous contributions to local causes. He proudly sponsored the bells and the statue of the Last Supper at Marymount Cemetery, leaving an indelible mark on the area.

One of Danillo's most endearing qualities was his unshakeable kindness. He never swore in his life, and his generosity knew no bounds—he was always there for those in need, whether offering a helping hand or a listening ear. He had a mischievous streak, which brought laughter and joy to all who knew him. Danillo cherished his family, especially his mother, whom he loved dearly, as he did his red Corvette.

A lover of travel, Danillo enjoyed exploring new places, savouring good wine, beer, and sweets along the way. He lived his life to the fullest, leaving no tales unheard and making lasting memories with those around him.

Son of the late Angelo Baggio and Amelia De Lenardo.  Cherished “Bayo” of Dorina for 28 years. Nephew of Renzo, Joseph, Rose, Rosie, Ida, Bruna, Rita and Gesumina. Godfather to Cailey and Laura, and cousin to many in the Baggio and the De Lenardo families.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 10 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph.  A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 11 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 175 Emma St, Guelph, followed by entombment at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Hwy 6.

As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences can be made online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
