Scott Walker’s name has been immortalized in a first-of-its-kind hall of fame south of the border.
The Guelph Storm’s president of hockey operations has been enshrined in the inaugural class of the Syracuse Hockey Hall of Fame.
He is one of five going into the first class, honouring them for outstanding achievements and contributions to hockey in Syracuse, New York.
Walker, nicknamed ‘Wild Thing’ while playing for the American Hockey League’s Crunch, was heralded for his physical style of play, combined with his offensive instincts.
He was part of the first season of the Syracuse Crunch in 1994-95, playing 74 games and collecting 334 penalty minutes. He would go on to play 829 games in the NHL.
Syracuse is the AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
