It appears the Canadian Football League could be holding an exhibition game at the University of Guelph this summer.
Although not yet confirmed, a source within the Canadian Football League said said an announcement could come as soon as this week regarding a game being played at Alumni Stadium in June.
Longtime Ottawa Sun CFL reporter Tim Baines (@TimCBaines) was the first to break the story, tweeting Saturday that it would happen June 7 between the Toronto Argonauts and the Ottawa RedBlacks.
After a follow-up by GuelphToday, a source within the CFL said there was no official confirmation at this point, but that an announcement was possible later this week.
Contacted Sunday, U of G Athletic Director Scott McRoberts said he couldn't confirm the information.
The @REDBLACKS will play a @CFL pre-season game in #Guelph June 7 vs. the @TorontoArgos. @GryphonFootball. It's a Thursday.

The University of Guelph has a long history of connecting with CFL teams.
In 2016 the Argonauts held their training camp there, as they also did in the early 1990s.
In 2013 the Hamilton TiCats used Alumni Stadium as their home field while Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton was under construction.
