Pair of Guelph Storm players invited to World Junior camp

Selection camp begins next Tuesday in Ottawa

A pair of Guelph Storm players could be part of Canada's World Junior team later this month.

Forward Jett Luchanko and defenceman Cam Allen are named to the 32-man selection camp roster, announced Monday morning by Hockey Canada.

Training camp gets underway in Ottawa next Tuesday, Dec. 10. The tournament is being held in the Canadian capital, beginning on Boxing Day when Canada takes on Finland.

Canada is looking to win its third gold medal in four years, after losing to Czechia in the quarter-finals last year.

Allen is Guelph's leading point getter this season. The Washington Capitals prospect has 22 points while appearing in all 24 games for the Storm.

Luchanko, Philadelphia's first-round pick in 2024, has 16 points in 13 games in Guelph. This, after starting the season with the Flyers, where he played four regular season games.

Scott Walker, Guelph's president of hockey operations, is Canada's player development coach.
